Sandiso Matshikiza

Sandiso is a Social Impact Programmes, Networks, and Communications specialist with eight years of experience across the African continent. With an academic background in Public Policy, Economic History, and International Relations (University of Cape Town), she received her early career training in the South African Parliament and joined the social impact space shortly afterwards. 

At Treeshake, one of her highlight achievements was coordinating the launch of the 2030 Reading Panel, chaired by former South African Deputy President Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka and asking the question “What needs to change to ensure that all children learn to read for meaning by 2030?”

Sandiso has also led collaborative projects aimed at improving Youth Civic Education & Participation in South Africa, and promoting Youth Leadership in Health Systems Strengthening, Regenerative Agriculture & Food Security, and Peacebuilding & Peacekeeping continent-wide.

Her stakeholder mobilisation and support spans International NGOs, Philanthropies, and Think Tanks; the Electoral Commission of South Africa and Departments of Basic and Higher Education & Training; Ministries of Health, Finance, and Parliamentarians in Sudan, Rwanda, and Tanzania; as well as political party leaders, activists, and community leaders from the continent.
